What is PEIL
PEIL reads your surroundings. It brings sources from public authorities and measurement networks together with its own editorial work, with the source, date and limit included. PEIL is not a government service, not an adviser and not an official navigation aid.
The name
Peilen means finding out how something stands
A Dutch word for the level or state of something: water level, price level, the level of a discussion.
To gauge, sound or measure; never pretending to know more than the measurement says.
Reads your surroundings. Amsterdam on the water is the first edition.
The three rules
A fact comes with its source and, where it matters, the date on which it was checked.
Unknown stays unknown. A calculation, estimate or concept is labelled as such.
PEIL helps you look and choose; signs, rules and professional assessment prevail.
