On the water
Signs and applicable rules always prevail
Follow traffic signs, instructions from competent authorities and the situation you can see yourself.
PEIL shows where a rule came from and when it was checked. A source may have changed later.
The skipper remains responsible for the boat, crew, route and safe navigation.
Bridges
Clearances are indicative
A displayed clearance comes from the named source and may depend on water level, measurement method and the actual shape of boat and bridge. Where there is no reliable value, it says unknown. Measure and assess on site.
Routes
A route may be a concept
Routes are suggestions. A route may be temporarily blocked, lack an operating time or not yet have been checked in the field. The app names the state where relevant; never proceed merely because the line on the map says so.
Questions and corrections
Found an error
E-mail the place, rule or bridge and preferably the source to info@peil.nu. Official information remains authoritative until a correction has been checked.
